Thursday 2nd July
We got up and it was a nice day so we decided to walk up Mount Maunganui. We started well, but then realised we wern't going up - We were on the base track! Half way around we see little pathway in thick trees with a sign that says this:
WARNING Very Steep Track - Moderate to High fitness required.
Lil Says: We'll be fine!
I Say: We a low fitness at best, there's no way we'll get up there!
So off we go up the steep track....we nearly died! It was so steep with big rickety old steps wedged in the mud, we clambered up roots, went up massive bolder steps and went near some sheer drops! But we did it! We had another 15mins of normal track when we emerged from the forest, sop everyone thought we were really unfit as we were breathing really heavily! Was an acheivement when we got to the top, but not fun at the time!! In the evening we then drove with Steve and Fergus to see Lil's Cousin Julie and her family. In the way we stopped to get a picture of a giant bottle to go with our giant kiwi fruit pic!

Friday 3rd July
We went off the the post office and posted some packages (wait and see). Then we had to say goodbye to Steven, Rachel and Fergus and back to Auntie Mary and Uncle Steve. Was sad to go, they really looked after us and kept us stocked up with lollies (sweets - they call all sweet lollies here - dont know why!) we had a great time in Tauranga and driving around in the Ute was brilliant! Steve also drove us to see Tina and Steve's house, it's really nice, and the town is lovely! The people who live there now were out when we took the pics, but turned up in their car so we quickly jumped back in the ute!
We met halfway again and Uncle Steve and Nicola picked us up and took us back to Hamilton! Now I've met Lil's cousin Nicola I have met every member of the McHardy family - 3 generations! (Ask me anything Tina - I'm ready!)

Early Monday 5:30am fly to Aus
Mon-Wed Sydney
Wed - Brisbane - meet Rachel
Then off the Ayres Rock Saturday

I will quiz you on the family when you get back Hollie dont you worry! Love the 1 of Libby at the house. Laughed so much when she told me what happened!! Ive seen that steep track at the Mount and all I can say is 'oh my god'! Worth it tho eh. To think you are now in Aussie WOW. Now I really cant wait for the next blog. Take care and have fun xxxxxxx
