Fri 5th - Sat 6th June - Baa!

Fri 5th June

We chilled out a bit more this day. Me and Lil walked into the local town (actually quite far, Lil's dad drove us up to the main road). We walked around the little shops of Ashburton and had lunch in a little cafe/bar, it was fitted out with all Irish Guiness posters which was a bit strange! Most of the shops are really cheap compared to ours, apart from one dept store which was near enough same prices as Debenhams. I've found a chocolate bar I love called 'Pinky', it's pink marshmallow, with a thin layer of caramel, then coated in chocolate! It's so sweet it usually makes my teeth hurt, but it's worth it! Here's a few photos of where we're staying:

Living Room, on a clear day you can see the mountains from the window.

Lil with Skip the Dog, in front of the Log fire (that heats the whole house)

This is what the streets look like, the roads are soo wide and 2 storey houses are rare! Took this whilst walking back from town.

Sat 6th June

We started off the day by helping with the sheep. Well lil did, i took photos! They had to move the electric fence to give the sheep their new patch of grass for the week.
We then went to the coast to Hakatere, we saw either side of where the Hakatere river meets the South Pacific Ocean. It was so rough it was ridiculous! The waves were at least 10 feet high and didn't break until they hit the shingle, the wind nearly blew me over! Pete also showed us a new housing development called Lake Hood. Its a man made lake and canals with houses built around them, each house has it's own dock on the canal. It was quite cool, very posh, but it was weird to see something so artifical when there's so much natural beauty around, seemed strange!!
In the evening we went out for dinnder with Julie's family, and then went to her friends house and played singstar and guitar hero, which was quite funny. The games here have a few different songs too.
Sheep! They have around 15 sheep and 1 Ram.

The crazy big waves at the coast

Windy at the coast!
We're getting good at taking photos of ourselves now! We're not up to much today (Sunday), I think we might watch a film and I'm going to get back to eating my Pinky Bar!
Speak to u all soon xxxx
